Built back in 1803 this grade II listed building is amongst the best remaining English smock mills – producing flour until 1910. Run by volunteers Upminster Windmill was reopened in 1967.
Offering free conducted tours on it’s open days (check the website for details) you can really see how these ingenious buildings worked and operated making the flour we enjoy.
